The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research has announced the notification for several vacancies of the Section Officer and also for Assistant Section Officer posts. Those candidates who applied for these posts are now waiting for CSIR Admit Card. The board will conduct the examination in February 2024 to select the 444 Candidates.
The department has issued the examination schedule for CSIR SO ASO posts on its official portal. As per this notice, the CSIR SO ASO Exam is scheduled from 05 February to 20 February 2024. CSIR CASE Admit Card for the same is released on the official portal of the department.
The admit card of the CSIR has been published on the official website. Candidates can download their admit card through the official portal only in Online mode. In order to download CSIR SO ASO Admit Card you have to enter your registration and password details.

The Recruitment Board has issued the vacancy notification for SO and ASO posts in December 2023. The starting date to apply for this examination was 8 December 2023. The process of registration was completed by 13 January 2024. In the next phase, the department will organize the written examination.
CSIR SO ASO Selection Procedure
The selection of candidates for the posts of Section Officer and Assistant Section Officer will be done on the basis of various selection phases given below.
- Written Examination
- Interview
- Computer Proficiency Test
In the written examination there will be three papers. All three papers are common and compulsory for both SO and ASO posts. After the written test the qualified candidates will be called for the next round. In the next phase, the candidates who have applied for the Section Officer vacancies will be called for an Interview and there will be a Computer Proficiency Test for the post of Assistant Section Officer. The final result will be based on the total marks scored by the candidates in all stages of the recruitment process.
Stage 1 ( Paper 1 and Paper 2 Exam): First of all candidates have to pass the stage 1 exams to enter the next stage of the recruitment procedure. If candidates pass the paper 1 and paper 2 then the board will call the aspirants for the paper 3rd.
Stage 2 ( Paper 3): The Stage 2 of the recruitment is a descriptive examination. The examination will be conducted for 150 marks and the qualified candidates will be called for the next phase.
Stage 3 (Interview for the post of Section Officer): For the posts of SO the last phase of selection is the Interview which will be conducted for 100 marks.
Stage 3 (Computer Proficiency Test for Assistant Section Officer Posts): The Computer Proficiency Test will be conducted for a total of 100 Marks.
CSIR CASE Exam Pattern
- There will be distinct Exam Patterns for both of the vacancies.
- Questions will be asked in Hindi and English language.
- There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer opted by the candidates in paper 1 and paper 2.
- Paper 3 will be a descriptive examination.

CSIR SO ASO Admit Card Infomation
The admit card is an essential document. It includes all information about the candidates such as name, date of birth, roll no, exam date, and exam center. Without an admit card candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination hall. On the admit card candidates will get some instructions that are necessary to follow by the candidates. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research has released the Combined Administrative Services Examination Admit Card online through its official portal. The candidates can visit the same portal or follow the simple instructions given below to download their Admit Card.
- Visit the official website of CSIR which is www.csir.res.in.
- Click on the Career and Opportunities tab available on the homepage.
- Now select the link to “CSIR – Combined Administrative Services Examination – 2023 (CASE-2023)”.
- Now find the CSIR Admit Card link and click on it.
- Then log in with your registration Number and password.
- Now, download the admit card and take a print for future reference.
