With its latest product, the Hero Xoom 160, Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, is once again at the leading edge of innovation. This premium adventure scooter will make its debut at the 2023 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy, representing Hero’s bold entry into the worldwide premium scooter market.
The Xoom 160’s global reveal at EICMA not only serves as proof of Hero’s global aspirations but also marks its introduction to the Indian market. The scooter is a part of Hero’s premium range and will be available exclusively through Premia dealerships, a network designed to offer a distinguished buying experience.
Hero Xoom 160 Design and Features
The Hero Xoom 160 is expected to feature a 160 cc engine, which may share its origin with the engine powering the Xtreme 160R and is paired with a torque profile suitable for both city commuting and adventure riding.
This indicates a likely similar displacement but with a unique cooling system to improve performance, possibly through an oil cooling setup supported by a distinctively shaped radiator, to maintain ideal operating temperatures even under harsh conditions.
In terms of design, the Xoom 160 is predicted to have a non-step-through floorboard, which combines the fuel tank into the central spine, using weight distribution for improved handling. The suspension system is expected to offer long travel, a characteristic advantageous for off-road riding, providing greater absorption of shocks from bumpy and rough roads. Safety is managed with a modern braking system, potentially offering ABS for enhanced control.
The scooter is also likely to include a number of innovative features. The scooter’s console might include a contemporary TFT display that provides clear and complete ride data. Twin-pod LED headlights are expected to offer lighting, providing good visibility.
With a layout that guarantees a calm riding position and a wide, accommodating seat. A luggage rack with the option of attaching a top box might be given for practicality, as well as a keyless start system for improved convenience, and a generous under-seat storage compartment.
Xoom 160 Debut in Indian Market
The name ‘Xoom 160’ was recently patented in India, hinting that the scooter will be Hero’s flagship model. The introduction of the Hero Xoom 160 into the market represents a strategic move by Hero MotoCorp to challenge established models like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and potentially the Honda ADV 160.
Hero MotoCorp is getting ready to introduce the Hero Xoom 160 in Indian Market possibly in March 2024. With an expected price range of ₹ 1,10,000 to ₹ 1,20,000, the Xoom 160 is set to offer a premium experience to scooter lovers.
