Haryana Police Constable Selection Process

The selection process for Haryana Police Constable Recruitment is a comprehensive and multi-stage procedure designed to assess the overall capabilities of the candidates. It comprises several phases, each crucial for determining the suitability of the applicants for the demanding role of a police constable.

  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT): In the first phase of selection the candidates will be called for the Physical Measurement Test based on the CET Exam. In this stage, male candidates of the general category are required to have a minimum height of 170 cm, while those from the reserved category need to be at least 168 cm tall. Female candidates need to be at least 158 cm tall for the general category and 156 cm for the reserved categories. This test is qualifying in nature, meaning that candidates need to meet these criteria to proceed to the next stage, but their performance here does not contribute to the final merit list.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Following the PMT, the PET evaluates the physical endurance and stamina of the candidates. This stage is also qualifying and does not add to the final scores. It involves a running test where male candidates must complete a 2.5 km run within 12 minutes. Female candidates are required to complete a 1.0 km run in 6 minutes. This test is designed to assess the physical fitness levels necessary for the rigorous duties of a police constable.
  • Written Examination (Knowledge Test): This is a critical phase of the selection process. The Knowledge Test is a written examination that tests the candidates’ general knowledge, reasoning, analytical abilities, and basic understanding of various subjects. The written test will be conducted for 94.5 marks containing 100 questions.
  • Document Verification Process: Successful candidates from the written exam are called for document verification. In this stage, candidates are required to present their original documents, including educational certificates, age proof, caste certificates, and any other documents as specified in the notification.
  • Medical Examination: The final stage of the selection process is the medical examination.
