Eligibility Criteria for Lek Ladki Yojana 2023

It is only for the beneficiaries who are a citizen of Maharashtra. The scheme is for female children from households that possess a yellow or orange ration card. Only females can apply for this scheme and it will be provided till they reach the age of 18 years.

How will the beneficiary receive money?

A financial support of ₹5,000 is given at the birth of a girl child. Additional financial assistance is provided once she begins school: 4,000 in first grade, 6,000 in sixth grade, and 8,000 in eleventh grade. When she reaches the age of 18, she is awarded an amount of money of ₹75,000, to help her cover her tuition fees for her college.

This programme aims to strengthen and promote self-sufficiency among girls in the state. The government will soon release rules for eligible recipients to enjoy the Lek Ladki Yojana’s benefits. This scheme gives money to help families educate their daughters. To get this help, parents need to have a bank account. The application should start when the girl is born, and she should be born in a government hospital.
