Puducherry Police Department has published a new vacancy advertisement for the position of Home Guard under the Government of Puducherry. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for a total of 500 vacancies. Out of these total vacant posts, 420 posts are released for male applicants and 80 vacancies for female applicants.

Educational Qualification for Home Guards
Applicants must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent from a recognized board in India. In addition to this qualification, candidates should have a domicile certificate of Puducherry Union Territory.
Puducherry Home Guard Age Limit
The age of the candidate should not be less than 18 years and should not have crossed the age of 40 years as of 29 November 2023 to apply for Home Guard Recruitment.

Home Guard Selection Process
For Puducherry Home Guard Vacancies, candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the following stages.
- Physical Standard Test
- Physical Efficiency Test
- Written Test
- Medical Examination

All these recruitment phases will be conducted by the officials step by step. First of all, eligible candidates will be called for PST and then for the PET Tests. Only qualified candidates are eligible for the next stage. Those who will qualify for both PST and PET will participate in the Written Test. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks they will get from the written test.
The written exam will be of 100 marks and the question paper will be provided bilingual i.e. in English and in any one of these regional languages namely Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam. Each question will carry one mark. There will be a negative marking also as 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer given.
