GATE Examination is conducted every year by IISC, Bangalore and a large number of candidates participate in the exam to get admission in the various postgraduate programs. For GATE 2024, the online application process was scheduled from 31 August to 12 October 2023, and with late fees, applicants were able to apply up to 20 October 2023.

GATE 2024 Exam Overview
An online computer-based test was conducted by the institute. The examination included a total of 100 objective-type questions. For each question carried one mark, there was a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer. For each question carried two marks, there was a negative marking of 2/3 marks. The total duration of the exam was 3 hours.
GATE Answer Key and Objection Submission Process
The Examination Authority will release the GATE Answer Key in two phases. In the first phase, a provisional answer key will be published so that the candidates can check the exam solutions and raise their objections against the doubtful answers. An objection submission link will be available on the official website once the answer key is released.
Applicants will have to pay an objection fee to challenge the answers given in this key. This fee is refundable if the doubt is found to be valid and correct. After completing this process, the officials will modify the answers, if needed, and prepare a final answer key for the GATE 2024 Examination. No objections will be received after the release of the final key.
