The Persons recruited as teachers should possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at all levels of schooling. The candidates who will qualify for the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test will get a certificate and will be eligible to apply for the positions of government teachers to be filled in the future.
KTET Educational Qualification Details
- For Category 1 (Lower Primary Classes): Candidates must have completed higher secondary or its equivalent qualification with 45% marks along with a 2-year Trained Teacher Certificate or a 2-year diploma in elementary education.
- For Category 2 (Upper Primary Classes): An applicant should have a Bachelor’s Degree and a two-year diploma in elementary education or a one-year B.Ed with at least 45% marks to apply for the posts at this level.
- For Category 3 (High School Classes): To apply for Category 3 positions, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a B.Ed Degree in the subject you want to teach or you are applying for.
- For Category 4 (Language Teacher, Specialist Teacher, Physical Education Teacher): Candidates must meet the qualifications mentioned in the Kerala Education Act & Rules for their specific subjects.
Age Limit For KTET
The age of the candidates should not be less than 21 years as on the application dates and there is no upper age limit for any category.
Kerala TET October 2023 Examination Fee
All the applicants have to pay the examination fee to submit their application forms for the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test. The following fee must be paid through an online mode of payment only.
