To be eligible for this scheme, farmers should be aged between 18 and 60 and must be living in Telangana. Also, farmers planning to apply must own agricultural land and farmers working on rented land are not eligible to apply.
If a farmer registered in the scheme passes away for any reason, an amount of INR 5.00 Lakhs is put into the account of the nominated family member within 10 days. This financial support greatly helps grieving families, especially those with fewer resources, helping them get through difficult times.

The Rythu Bima Scheme provides financial security to a total of 5,715,870 farmers across different areas in Telangana. One of the highlights of this scheme is that the government bears the entire insurance premium, paying it to the Life Insurance Corporation of India. This gesture by the government eases the financial load on farmers, allowing them to focus more on their agricultural activities with a peaceful mind. The amount that the government is paying to the Life Insurance Corporation of India on behalf of farmers is nearly Rs 500 crore per year.

- Go to the official website of Rythu Bandhu.
- Click on the Rythu Bima icon.
- Look on the right side of the page for “Claim Form Download” under Notifications.
- Click the link to download a form in MS Word.
- Print out the form.
- Fill in the form with the right information.
- Give the filled form to the hospital when you get the body or take it to the nearest LIC office.
- You’ll get the money in your account within 10 days.
