West Bengal College Service Commission successfully conducted the State Eligibility Test on 17 December 2023. WBCSC organizes the State Eligibility Test every year. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria and want to start their career in the teaching profession participate in this exam. This year, the commission conducted the 25th State Eligibility Test.

For WB SET 2023, the online application process started on 01 August and concluded on 31 August 2023. After receiving a huge number of applications, the commission issued admit cards to the eligible candidates and conducted the exam on 17 December 2023.
WB SET 2023 Exam Overview
West Bengal State Eligibility Test consisted of two papers i.e. Paper I & Paper II.
- Paper I included 50 objective-type questions only. Each question carried two marks and there was no negative marking for wrong answers given by the candidate. Questions asked in Paper I intended to assess the teaching and research aptitude of the applicants.
- Paper II consisted of 100 multiple-choice questions which were based on the subject selected by the candidate. To qualify for this exam, candidates from the General & EWS Category should have to score 40% aggregate marks in both the papers and for Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC) this criterion is 35% marks only.
West Bengal SET Answer Key & Objection Process
The Commission will release the WB SET Answer Key in two phases. In the first phase, a provisional answer key will be published and candidates can check these exam solutions through the official site. If the applicants have any doubts about the solutions given here, they can raise their objections with the help of an objection submission link.
This link will be available for a few days only. Candidates are advised to check the answer key once released. After this process, the officials will release a final answer key for the State Eligibility Test. Applicants will be awarded marks as per the solutions given in this key. No objections will be received once the final answer key is released.
